What is the meaning of JED?

Many of our purchased parts are specified by drawings. Additionally Standards for materials, treatments and fabrication are specified and described in our Joint Engineering Documents

These JED's are WABCO specifications that are updated according changed standards, i.e. alloys, rubber or plastic compounds. Normally these WABCO specifications are not relevant for DIN- and catalogue parts. An exception, however, is the JED-762, which specifies avoiding hazardous substances. This JED is mandantory for all of our suppliers.

Otherwise our Agreements and drawings are relevant. If JED documents are named, only the actual version have to been used.

Generally our purchase will inform our suppliers about documents, which are changed. Additionally we will enable you with this Internet page, to download actual overviews by yourself. We will update this information frequently. This information service is active for all suppliers. In case of further questions please address your partner from purchasing. You also can get documents by fax or email. If you need more documents or larger formats, please address your request to FD/1,
