New WABCO TASC with Return-to-Ride: Keep Safe Under Bridges
WABCO has introduced TASC, the innovative Return-to-Ride valve. It automatically returns trailers to normal driving level as soon as the vehicle starts driving. New TASC is part of WABCO's Zero Accident Program, which aims to reduce frequency and severity of road accidents involving trucks and trailers while driving, maneuvering, loading or unloading.
With its new TASC making trailer operations safer and easier, WABCO continues as the first commercial vehicle supplier to offer truck and trailer customers a complete portfolio of air suspension systems. Available for original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers across Europe, TASC combines the trailer's Lift-and-Lower function with a Return-to-Ride function that ensures automatic return to optimum ride height after loading or unloading by using the trailer's air suspension system.
TASC helps prevent collisions with bridges and gates as the trailer continuously operates at optimum ride height. It also enables the trailer's electronic braking system (Trailer-EBS) or anti-lock braking system (ABS) to apply optimum pressure per load, further enhancing vehicle and load safety.
"With WABCO's new TASC, the Return-to-Ride feature helps us to improve the trailer's loading and unloading procedure, making trailer operations safer, faster and easier," said Joost van Eck, Operational Director of Van Eck Group in the Netherlands. "In addition to operating the trailer at optimum ride height, TASC enables enhanced performance of the trailer's braking system."
