What is the meaning of JED?

Many of our purchased parts are specified by drawings. Additionally, standards for materials, treatments and fabrication are specified and described in our Joint Engineering Documents (JED).

These JED's are WABCO specifications, that are updated according changed standards, i.e. alloys, rubber or plastic compounds. Normally these WABCO specifications are not relevant for DIN- and catalogue parts. An exception however, is the JED-762, which is specific for avoiding hazardous substances. This JED is mandatory for all of our suppliers.

Otherwise, our agreements and drawings are relevant for DIN- and catalogue parts.

Generally, our purchasing specialist will inform our suppliers about documents, which are changed.
