Legislation will increasingly force adoption of sophisticated electronic safety systems to help reduce road fatalities. For example, advanced emergency braking systems (AEBS) will be mandatory in the European Union starting for new vehicle type approvals in 2013 and for new registrations in 2015. This means safety technology for commercial vehicles will become continuously more complex, evolving into “systems of systems.” WABCO is committed to remain at the leading of the commercial vehicle industry’s pursuit of advanced vehicle safety and driver effectiveness. Indeed, WABCO will develop an advanced system called OnGuardPlus™ to comply with expected AEBS legislatory requirements.
