Most commercial vehicle chassis are electronically controlled. WABCO's Electronically Controlled Air Suspension system (ECAS) has been a major driver of this trend and is now widely used. WABCO has further developed ECAS to integrate an electronic shock absorber control system (ESAC). This systems integration allows existing sensors, and thus existing information, to be used.
Features
The Shock absorber system ESAC is based on the the electronically controlled air suspension system (WABCO ECAS) and the ECAS based vehicle ride-height control system
Determines the optimum damping level from load, road surface profile, speed, body movement and lateral acceleration
Benefits
Safety:
Improved vehicle stability and -handling due to diminished roll-rate
Load remains stable independent of load conditions
Reduction of road damages due to dynamic loading
Vehicle wear:
Reduced impact on shock-sensitive parts, tires, mountings means reduced service and maintenance costs for vehicle owner
Comfort:
Protects driver and load, reduces road wear
Significantly reduces dive and squat when the vehicle is braked or moved
Noise reduction
Application
Leaf / air suspended vehicles and fully air suspended 4x2, 6x4 or 6x2 vehicles
