Empty air bellows on tag axles are frequently damaged by bouncing or torque. Air Bellow Protector avoids this damage. It also increases the lifetime of your trailer’s air bellows.
What does it do?
Air Bellow Protector keeps a predefined minimum pressure in the air bellows of tag axles to keep the wheels on the ground
How does it work?
A sensor measures the pressure in the air bellows of the tag axle
When the air pressure in a bellow decreases to 0.3 bar, WABCO’s Air Bellow Protector will block the bellow’s air exhaust
The minimum air pressure in the air bellows is kept at 0.3 bar
Why do you want it?
Increase the lifetime of air bellows
Avoid air bellows becoming empty and thus damaged by bouncing or torsion
Fewer components and less maintenance compared to a mechanical air bellow protector solution
The minimum pressure is electronically controlled and does not require manual adjustments
