WABCO innovations for trailers: safe, reliable and flexible
WABCO has presented several world’s firsts to the trailer market, among them the electronic braking systems Trailer EBS and stability controls such as RSS (Roll Stability Support). Building on our unmatched experience of more than 500,000 Trailer EBS systems sold since 1998, WABCO’s trailer systems offer innovative and flexible technology for the highly fragmented trailer industry.
WABCO technology innovations aim at combining maximum safety, efficiency, and flexibility to meet the needs of several thousand manufacturers worldwide. The most recent upgrade of its Trailer EBS, the E generation, illustrates this: with Trailer EBS-E, WABCO engineers made important achievements to cut down installation and maintenance costs through a reduced number of parts and fittings. Fleet operators benefit from more efficient operation and maintenance, reliably keeping the trailer longer on the road and saving costs. Roll Stability Support (RSS) is included in all versions of the Trailer EBS Modulator and extended with further trailer functionalities, such as Electronically Controlled Air Suspension (ECAS) in the Modulator of the premium version. The system can be prepared with the new Pneumatic Extension Module (PEM) that helps reduce installation costs. WABCO SmartBoard can be added to provide fleet managers or drivers with real-time status overviews of the braking system and its components. The innovative system combines separate monitoring devices into a single, easy to use multi-functional system, thus helping to operate the trailer safe and efficient.
