This mechatronic device for future rear-axle air suspension systems features a compact and modular design with minimum integration costs offering a cost-effective solution for increased driving comfort in lighter vehicles and trucks.
The mechatronic air suspension consists of an air compressor, air dryer, air spring valves, electrical relay and electronics. Costly components, such as additional wiring harnesses, connectors and relay bases, become unnecessary. This can now simplifies vehicle installation. A recent update of this compressor package has extended the pressure capabilities, while the integrated controls can be ‘plug and play’ or can interface with vehicle LAN/CAN data bus. Application of the mechatronic design can be accomplished with low design impact for existing vehicles, or can be applied with full vehicle communications to optimize overall vehicle performance.
