Team Allgäuer’s Gerd Körber ranked third in both cup races, outpacing team captain Egon Allgäuer, who ranked fourth. WABCO, one of the leading producers of electronic braking, stability, suspension and transmission control systems to the global commercial vehicle industry, supplies the latest braking technology for Egon Allgäuer’s team, including the high performance Air Disc Brake, the lightest brake available for trucks. Gerd Körber (right) celebrates his third place in Barcelona with Markus Bösiger ranked in first place and Antonio Albacete who ranked second."It was a great start to the racing season,” said Harald Kaess, WABCO vice president OE sales. “Our truck racing engagement serves two objectives: it is an opportunity to present our systems' capabilities under tough racing conditions to a broad industry audience, and helps us to gather data on the performance of our products which we can then feed back to our product and development teams to the benefit of our customers worldwide,” Kaess added. Air Disc Brake New Generation NG 22 Plus – The new generation WABCO air disc brakes are currently the lightest brakes available for heavy trucks. The use of lightweight material protects the chassis and reduces the fuel consumption, helping fleet owners benefit from improved payload potential and vehicle service life, as well as reduced operating costs. NG22 Plus retains the performance of WABCO’s PAN range of patented, single-piston technology while optimizing disc cracking resistance. A key differentiator of WABCO’s latest generation of Air Disc Brakes is the new brake caliper with pad offset in which the rim side brake carrier is eliminated, making installation easier for manufacturers. The next European Truck Racing Championship event will take place in Zolder, Belgium, from May 19-20. Editors Notes Media contact: |
