WABCO and Truck Race Team Allgäuer Renew Successful Partnership

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM – 12 MARCH 2007 – WABCO, one of the leading suppliers to the commercial vehicle industry, and Truck Race Team Allgäuer have agreed to continue their successful partnership with the signing of a new sponsorship contract. In the 2007 season, WABCO will supply the latest braking technology for Egon Allgäuer’s team, including the high performance Air Disc Brake, the lightest brake available for trucks.

"We support the teams with our technical know-how and state-of-the-art braking technologies”, says Harald Kaess, WABCO vice president of OE Sales. “In the racing and rally environment, we showcase our systems' performance capabilities under tough conditions to a broad public. Just recently the KAMAZ and TATRA truck teams finished in second, third and fifth position at the toughest endurance test worldwide, the famous Rally Dakar. Both team’s vehicles are supported with WABCO’s anti-lock braking system components. Connecting with our customers and truck racing enthusiasts through sponsorships helps us to build brand awareness globally.”

2002 European Truck Racing Champion, Egon Allgäuer says that reliable braking and high performance safety technology are critical factors for his team’s success on the racetrack. "We push our trucks to the limits of their capabilities. WABCO's experience in the field of safety and their detailed technical knowledge are tremendous assets to us”, said Allgäuer. For the new season former European Truck Racing Champion and runner-up of last season, Gerd Körber, will join Team Allgäuer as a new pilot. Thus strengthened Truck Racing Team Allgäuer is aiming for the newly established European team championship.
