Iveco Honors WABCO in "Best Supplier of the Year" Awards
BRUSSELS, BELGIUM – 3 NOVEMBER 2005 – Iveco recently honored WABCO as one of its best suppliers, in a new awards program that initially recognized 27 of the company's 500 suppliers.

WABCO supplies Iveco with a range of braking, stability, suspension, and transmission controls, and tire pressure monitoring products.

The awards were announced and presented at Iveco's annual supplier conference, held this year in Madrid, Spain and attended by nearly 1000 supplier representatives.

Co-presented by Paolo Monferino, Iveco chief executive officer and Loris Spaltini, vice president, global purchasing, the new award coincided with Iveco's 30th anniversary. The "Best Supplier" awards selection criteria recognized excellence in six key areas:
  • Quality
  • Service level
  • Cost reduction performance
  • Proactive approach to technical savings
  • Design and development capability
  • Short response time
"In today's demanding market, customers expect suppliers to demonstrate leadership not only in product delivery and performance, but in listening and responding to a broader range of requirements. Iveco's criteria for excellence clearly demonstrates this," said Jacques Esculier, WABCO president. "Being among the first to be recognized by this awards program is an honor for the integrated WABCO team that supports our relationship with Iveco. This award also reinforces our commitment to continually improve the way we partner with customers across our organization -- from product development to supply chain management, sales and aftermarket service."

Harald Kaess, vice president of OE Sales, accepted the award on behalf of WABCO.

Earlier this year WABCO was honored as "Supplier of the Year" by DaimlerChrysler's global sourcing and distribution group, and as the "Best Brand in Brakes" by readers of three leading German trade publications.
