WABCO presents 2008 UK Service Centre Awards

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM / LEEDS, UK – 7 April 2008 – WABCO, one of the leading providers of electronic braking, stability, suspension and transmission control systems for the commercial vehicle industry, honoured its best UK Service Centres 2008 during its recent annual Service Centre meeting.

All 53 WABCO Service Centres in UK were ranked according to their performance in a comprehensive service quality assessment which includes auditing the stock, training, equipment and premises of the Service Centres and has been conducted throughout 2007. Winners are: Bibby Commercials Ltd. (National), Hodgkin & Lynch Ltd. (Northern region), and SPR Trailers Ltd. (Southern region). The awards were presented by former Leeds and England football star Alan Clarke during an evening reception at the famous Leeds United football ground.

During the day, Chris Chapman, UK aftermarket manager, provided a corporate overview and emphasized the role of the service centre network. “Our Service Centres are a highly valued part of WABCO providing customers with excellent service quality. This is ensured by regular trainings, assessments, and events like this annual meeting.”

At the meeting, Service Centre operators also had the chance to get to know the latest WABCO products, such as the new generation Electronic Braking System for Trailers, E-Generation (T-EBS E), which has just been launched in the UK and paves the way for simpler trailer braking, as well as WABCO Tire Premium Seal. The first aid kit for commercial vehicle tyres makes the repair process of a leaking tyre simpler, quicker and safer than changing a wheel and reduces vehicle downtime.

Philip Laughton, WABCO UK Technical Support Co-Ordinator, added: “Our regular auditing shows that we have a highly dedicated and motivated Service Centre network. I am particularly proud that all 53 affiliated WABCO Service Centres participated in this year’s annual meeting. This is a strong proof of our close relationship that we have with our WABCO Service Centres.”
