WABCO-Sponsored Team Allgäuer Take Second Place in European Truck Racing Team Championship

Zolder weekend sees driver Gerd Körber step up to the podium for the second consecutive event

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM – 21 MAY 2007 – WABCO and Truck Race Team Allgäuer achieved good rankings in the races at the second European Truck Racing Championship weekend in Zolder, Belgium. In the second qualification race Team Allgäuer’s Gerd Körber ranked third, securing a place on the podium in the second consecutive outing. In the following second cup Race Körber ranked fourth. Team captain Egon Allgäuer finished both Sunday races, ranking fifth in the second qualification race and sixth in the second cup race. With the good results, Team Allgäuer is now ranking second in the newly established team championship.


Tight situation - Egon Allgäuer managed to pass Jean Philippe Belloc's truck without a scratch.

"After the successful start into the season in Barcelona seven weeks ago, the good results in Zolder, where Team Allgäuer again was able to get on the podium in one of the races, indicate that the combination Allgäuer – WABCO is highly competitive”, said Harald Kaess, WABCO vice president OE sales. “We are proud that our know-how and products, in particular our braking technology, contribute to this success”, Kaess added.

1st qualification race (Saturday): Gerd Körber 5th, Egon Allgäuer 7th
1st cup race (Saturday): Gerd Körber 6th, Allgäuer –
2nd qualification race (Sunday): Gerd Körber 3rd, Egon Allgäuer 5th
2nd cup race (Sunday): Gerd Körber 4th, Egon Allgäuer 6th

The next European Truck Racing Championship event will take place in Albacete, Spain, from June 2-3.
