IVTM Return on Investment Calculator

WABCO’s new return on investment (ROI) calculator shows you the value of investing in WABCO’s Integrated Tire Pressure Monitoring (IVTM). All you have to do is input your specific vehicle data or load a standard profile. The calculator then tells you the payback period, savings per month, and total cost savings per year. It also helps you gauge the impact of under-inflation of tires.

STEP 1:

• Select a profile (vehicle configuration type) from the drop-down list (e.g. “Truck & Trailer / Long Distance”).
• Click on “Load Profile” to load a standard profile (proceed to Step 2) or fill in the following operating values for your specific vehicle:
  • Vehicle data
  • Tire replacement costs and individual tire lifetime
  • Service and maintenance costs in regards to tire pressure check
  • Replacement and downtime costs in case of tire damage

You may also load a standard profile and adjust some of the values.

STEP 2:

• Click on the “calculate savings” link. It returns the following results:
  • Fuel cost savings due to optimized tire pressure
  • Savings due to higher tire mileage performance [€]
  • Reduced service costs due to easier and faster tire pressure check
  • Avoidance of emergency breakdowns (tire damage will be recognized sooner)
  • Total cost savings per year

The influence of under-inflation of tires is shown for three different levels: 10, 20 and 30 percent.

STEP 3:

• Enter the price for the IVTM system and the installation cost. Please use default values to estimate cost.

Note: The necessary investment is directly linked to vehicle configuration. The IVTM system and assembly costs can be adapted and considered individually.

• Click on “Calculate savings”.

The calculator tells you the payback period and the savings per month, based on under-inflation of 10, 20 or 30 percent.
Once the IVTM system cost is fully amortized, you will only have savings.
A diagram of savings [€] or the ROI time [months] gives you a quick overview, and lets you do a fast and individual investment calculation. The influence of under-inflation of tires can be varied in three steps, from 10 - 30 percent. Please also consider implemented graphics of the relation between fuel consumption and increasing under-inflation.

Other Considerations

• IVTM is a retrofit system that can be assembled quickly and efficiently. The calculations you make here can easily be projected to your entire vehicle park.
• Please note that the calculation cannot consider all individual influences such as road surfacing, driver, landscape, loads, tire quality or other factors.
