Featured technology highlights will include:

Advanced Vehicle Autonomy and Enhanced Road Safety

OnGuardMAX™: Benefitting from more than a decade of global experience, WABCO’s most advanced Autonomous Emergency Braking System (AEBS), OnGuardMAX, makes its debut in China. OnGuardMAX relies on data integrated from a forward-looking radar sensor and a camera, based on the industry-leading EyeQ®4 chip, to provide highly sophisticated analysis of the road and traffic conditions ahead. This enables OnGuardMAX to evaluate the vehicle position within lane markings and to detect impending rear-end collisions that covers a wide range of moving or stationary vehicles and, pedestrians. The system provides lane departure warning (LDW), forward collision warning (FCW) and advanced emergency braking (AEB) to help prevent accidents while complying with the related Chinese safety legislation for commercial vehicles.

MAXX™ Single-Piston Air Disc Brakes (ADB): WABCO’s fully localized high-performance MAXX ADB provides enhanced safety and efficiency with shorter stopping distances and easier, and faster maintenance over conventional drum brakes. With quality engineering and a compact design resulting in fewer parts compared to other ADB systems, WABCO’s MAXX offers outstanding reliability. The comprehensive MAXX range is suitable for light, medium, and heavy-duty truck, bus and trailer applications, and also meets the requirements of the haulage industry and the latest regulations.

Empowering Tomorrow’s Fleets

Modern-day transport companies face a multitude of challenges in a fast-paced and dynamic environment driven by shifting customer expectations, greater regulation and an accelerating pace of technology solutions.  As commercial vehicle fleets evolve, the demand for improved management of truck and trailer assets is on the rise, as providers seek optimal solutions to better track, manage and maintain their fleets. WABCO’s combined offering of advanced trailer technologies and an ever increasing proximity of vehicle spare parts and services through its growing distribution and workshop network is enabling China’s fleets to operate in an increasingly leaner, greener and safer manner.

Intelligent Trailer Program (ITP): Leveraging its industry leading Trailer Electronic Braking System, WABCO's ITP integrates with the trailer’s braking system to offer more than 40 onboard functions that enhance operational effectiveness, safety and driver comfort. It provides a flexible, one-stop solution that enables fleet operators to customize each trailer with functions that specifically meet the needs of the industry segment.

Digital Service Platform: WABCO’s newly-launched “Intelligent Cloud” digital service platform for China, leverages AI technologies, that on one hand, connects commercial vehicle drivers, fleets, and OEMs with WABCO’s nation-wide distributors and service partners; and on the other, integrates warranty extension, physical examination, maintenance, spare parts purchase, and remote diagnostics through a one-click service ticket. It allows customers to access WABCO’s service through their digital channel of choice and enables fleets to reduce costs and improve efficiency through this smarter approach to vehicle maintenance and repair.

Toward a Greener World
Among its extensive portfolio of technologies to foster a greener world, WABCO will showcase a few that will help increase the fuel-efficiency of trucks, buses and trailers in China. Highlighted here are:

Integrated Automated Manual Transmission (AMT): WABCO is introducing a new Integrated AMT solution that is specifically targeting the unique needs of the Chinese market. The Integrated AMT improves driver effectiveness across all levels by freeing drivers from repeated clutch and shifting operations through optimized automated gear-shifting. It also offers additional benefits such as   extended component life and reduced fuel consumption by improving the accuracy and efficiency of gear-switching.

2-stage and Clutch Compressors:  With more than 500,000 units in the field, WABCO’s innovative d-comp™ two-stage compression technology provides cleaner air to the vehicle’s air systems thereby extending their service life. WABCO’s c-comp™ air compressor integrates a clutch which reduces energy requirements from the engine to compress air thereby enabling significant fuel savings.

“Showcasing this suite of leading-edge technologies will help demonstrate WABCO’s clear differentiation rooted in technology leadership, innovation strength, and China market focus, as it pursues its commitment to mobilize vehicle intelligence to help advance the commercial vehicle industry,” said Yu.
