AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (USA), April 9, 2020 - WABCO Holdings Inc. (“WABCO”) (NYSE: WBC), a leading global supplier of technologies and services that improve the safety, efficiency and connectivity of commercial vehicles, today announced it will once again join with manufacturing companies around the world to recognize Global Remanufacturing Day on Thursday, April 9. In support of World Reman Day, WABCO has also announced that it has achieved ISO 45001 at its Rochester Hills, Michigan remanufacturing facility.
Established in 2010, WABCO Reman Solutions specializes in remanufacturing electronic and mechatronic components as well as traditional mechanical parts. WABCO’s remanufactured products serve original equipment makers, tier-one and tier-two suppliers and a growing number of aftermarket customers across the globe. WABCO remanufactures products in Rochester Hills, Michigan, U.S.; Stanowice, Poland; Jinan, China; and Campinas, Brazil.
Sponsored by the Remanufacturing Industries Council, Global Remanufacturing Day was created to build awareness and appreciation for remanufactured products and the value they bring to customers and the environment. In support of WABCO’s commitment to its customers, the remanufacturing industry and the environment, WABCO has achieved ISO 45001 Certification based on an environmental audit conducted in 2019. This certification recognizes consistency throughout the organization and is built around the concept of “best practices for everyone, everywhere”.
“WABCO’s achievement of ISO 45001 demonstrates our commitment to providing our employees and customers with remanufactured products built in a culture of Health, Safety and Environmental Efficiency,” said Jeff Stukenborg, WABCO Reman Engineering Leader. “Especially during socially and economically challenging times, remanufactured products provide the best combination of price, performance and environmental benefits to help increase uptime for our customers.”
WABCO’s selection of remanufactured products includes air dryers, air compressors, hydraulic power brakes and automated manual transmissions.
“Remanufacturing is a very important and growing part of WABCO’s aftermarket portfolio,” said Abe Aon, Business Leader, Aftersales, Service & Support, North America. “As the original equipment developer and manufacturer of these products, WABCO is able to remanufacture some of our most labor and energy-intensive products to the latest specifications. Additionally, the positive environmental benefits through reduced raw material and energy consumption means customers are making both an economic and ecological choice.”
